Quisqualis.com announces new line of ladies accessories

Bob Cannon of Quisqualis Multimedia announced today development plans for a new line of clothing accessories and a new company is being formed to market the unique products. The raw materials will be fruit and other plant products that are passed through a special process where they become impregnated with resins or plasticizes that make them durable and, in some cases, of a texture that is comfortable to the touch.

“For centuries people have used plants for food, clothing and shelter. It seems time that there is a shift back to basic organic shapes. Plenty of designers try and make something fantastic and it mostly turns out artificial. My goal is to add, in some small way, a reconnection with the organic and nature. Much of what we want to use would be considered waste, I wanted to think green and turn this into something useful,” said Cannon as we met in his office.

First in the series are ladies' purses based on tropical fruit. “Our standard sized purse is made from a dried, resin impregnated halved durian.” Cannon said once they got the process down for deodorizing the famously ‘aromatic’ fruit that the rest was easy. “Durian, noted for its unique flavour and pungent odor is also well known as an aphrodisiac in its native range. We have dulled the thorn tips a bit and lined the interior with luscious silk.”

Durian is not the only fruit to be so treated however, “We also have a purse / overnight bag made from Jakfruit that many women will enjoy. We took special care in seeing that the fruit’s unique texture is preserved. We include a complementary makeup mirror that is backed by an Opuntia cactus pad, thornless of course.

“For a night out on the town we developed the ‘Breadfruit Clutch’, which comes in a variety of colours to complement the most demanding socialite’s evening wear. We will also have evening bags made from some large bean pods in the Inga group of plants.

“There are several other fruit projects underway and our attorneys are working on Patent and Trademark issues now. We hope to make our products available for the holiday season.” He pointed out that there was still room for additional investors in the project.

Cannon also said that jewelry and several men’s products were also in the works, including a wallets made from cactus pads and banana leaves.

As I was leaving the development site I spotted some small cup-like purple things and asked what they were for. “In countries where topless sunbathing is popular women frequently cover their, er, nipple area with a small stone, bottle cap or something to prevent sunburn. Those are halved Mangosteen shells; we expect to market them as ‘Bosom Buddies™’ on the French Riviera and similar areas.”

I remembered seeing, in his office, a photograph of some of the indigenous people from Papua New Guinea where the men were wearing penis sheaths – I was afraid to ask.
